SMC Pentax 50mm f1.2 front element

SMC Pentax 50mm f1.2

£495.00

The smc Pentax 50mm f/1.2 is the fastest standard lens Asahi produced, introduced in 1975 as the flagship of the then new K mount. Its seven element, six group design is paired with Pentax's Super Multi Coating, delivering strong contrast, faithful colour and dependable flare resistance even at maximum aperture.

Wide open at f/1.2 it gives an exceptionally shallow depth of field with smooth, rounded rendering from the eight bladed diaphragm, sharpening considerably from f/2 onwards. The all metal barrel is substantial at 385g, with a long, well damped focus throw that makes precise manual focusing straightforward at such a thin plane of focus. Focusing to 0.45m and taking 52mm filters, it suits every K mount body and adapts readily to modern mirrorless systems.
